What we collect, and why.

Who we are

BuilderOS is a job management system for New Zealand residential builders. It is owned and run by Launch Lab Media Ltd, a New Zealand company, and “we” on this page means Launch Lab Media Ltd. This statement covers this website, builderos.co.nz. The BuilderOS app has its own terms, which you'll see before you use it.

What we collect

Only what you give us, and a little about how the site is used:

• When you apply for early access: your name, company and email, and, if you choose to give them, your mobile, the size of your team, the tools you use now and what's costing you most.
• When you sign up for build notes: your email address.
• When you visit: Google Analytics records which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (country and city), the device and browser, and how people found the site. It uses cookies to tell a new visit from a return one. We use this in total, to see what's working, not to single anyone out.
• Server logs: our hosting keeps short-lived technical logs, including IP addresses, to run the site and keep it secure.

Why we collect it

• To read your application, get back to you, and set you up if it's a fit.
• To send build notes and the occasional update. That includes people who applied for early access (the application form says so). Every one has an unsubscribe link.
• To understand how the site is used and make it better.

Who else sees it

We don't sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing. A few services handle it for us:

• Resend sends our emails and keeps the contact details of applicants and subscribers.
• Vercel hosts the website.
• Google provides Google Analytics.

These companies store information outside New Zealand, including in the United States. We use them because they're well established and take security seriously, and they only use your information to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

Applications are kept while we're talking with you and, if you become a customer, for as long as you are. If it doesn't go ahead, ask and we'll delete it. Anyone we send updates to stays on until they unsubscribe: every email has an unsubscribe link, or just email us. Google Analytics data is kept for Google's standard period and then deleted.

Cookies

The site uses Google Analytics cookies and nothing for advertising. You can block cookies in your browser, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site works the same either way.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email hello@builderos.co.nzand we'll reply within 20 working days, usually much sooner.

Complaints

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, tell us first and we'll put it right. If we don't, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
